Chocolate Mayonnaise Cake with Peanut Butter Frosting


Ingredients for Chocolate Mayonnaise Cake:

  • 2 cups of flour
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 4 tablespoons cocoa
  • 1 cup of salad dressing like Miracle Whip--This makes the cake moist, but you don't taste the salad dressing once it is baked.
  • 1 cup of cold water
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla

Ingredients for Peanut Butter Frosting:

  • 3-3 1/2 cups of powdered sugar 
  • 1/2 cup of peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup of milk I probably used closer to 1/3 c. cup--but I also used 3 1/2 c. powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla


Chocolate Mayonnaise Cake:

  1. Grease and flour a 13" x 9" cake pan--I actually used cocoa instead of flour since it was a chocolate cake.
  2. Beat all ingredients together.  Pour into prepared cake pan. 
  3. Bake at 350° for 35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the middle comes out clean

Peanut Butter Frosting:

  1. Beat all ingredients together with a mixer until smooth.  If too stiff, add more milk.  Only add a tiny bit of milk at a time until you get your desired consistency.
