Delicious, easy Chocolate Crackles are perfect for Christmas -- and any other time of the year!

Chocolate Crackles

Ingredients

  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate pieces
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup salad oil
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts optional
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Melt chocolate.
  2. Combine with sugar and oil.
  3. Add eggs one at a time. Beat well.
  4. Add vanilla.
  5. Combine flour, baking powder and salt. Add to chocolate mixture.
  6. Stir in nuts if desired.
  7. Chill dough.
  8. Drop teaspoonfuls of dough in powdered sugar. Roll to coat. Place on greased cookie sheets. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes. Cool on rack.
  9. Makes 4 dozen cookies.
