These Cinnamon Breakfast Sugar Muffins are fun for the kids to make and eat! Eat them for breakfast or for dessert!

Cinnamon Sugar Muffins

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup shortening
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

Ingredients needed for rolling muffins in after they are baked:

  • 1/3 cup butter melted
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Combine shortening, sugar, and egg.
  2. Add the rest of the ingredients.
  3. Beat well. Fill muffin cups 1/2 full.
  4. Bake for 20-25 minutes at 350°.
  5. Remove from oven.
  6. Roll in melted butter; then in cinnamon-sugar mixture.*
  7. (*Cinnamon-sugar mixture: 1/2 cup sugar with 1 teaspoon cinnamon.) Makes 12.
