This year I am an ambassador for Mean Green cleaning products. I do get paid by them to review their products and to write these posts, but I always give my honest opinion.
I had never used their products before this year, but I have been very happy with everything I have used this past year. You can see two previous posts I have written about their products — one was about how I used their products in every day cleaning around the house, and the other was about how you can use their products outside the house.
After I wrote those posts, I have continued to use Mean Green products in every day cleaning jobs, and in the heavier cleaning jobs. I have to admit that this is a rather embarrassing post to write as you will see my least cleaned area of my house — my shower. My main bathroom gets cleaned by my kids in their Saturday chores. As my shower is only seen by my husband and me, it is my last thing to clean. Therefore, I wash my floors, cook meals, do laundry, take care of the 5 kids, teach at school, and more . . . before I clean my shower. It was getting rather disgusting.
It is kind-of hard to show a picture that showed the nastiness of my shower. The grout lines had some light orange mildew growing and definitely there was soap scum on the tiles. The hard water in my area doesn’t help to have clean tiles either. I grabbed the Mean Green Mildew Destroyer and sprayed it all over my shower walls.
As well as the mildew cleaner, I used a good old scrub brush. After a little bit of elbow grease, the soap scum and mildew all were removed. What I was most surprised about was my shower liner. It had orange mildew creeping up the inside of the liner. As I was cleaning the tiles, some spray must have gotten on the liner itself. As I turned on the water to rinse off the tiles, it also rinsed off the liner and the orange mildew rinsed off — without me scrubbing the liner! It was amazing. I wish I would have taken pictures of the liner before it all the mildew disappeared.
At the end of the cleaning session, my shower tiles were gleaming, the grout lines were all clean, my soap dish was thankfully restored to a soap scum free surface, and there was no mildew on my shower liner! I became a true believer. I also said I was going to clean my shower more often — which has not happened. But not to worry! I can use Mean Green Mildew Destroyer again!
It’s hard to take picture in my tiny bathroom, but you can see the light reflecting off my shiny tile walls!
