I have been doing a Mom’s book study with a group of moms this summer. It has been so much fun reading and sharing every Tuesday morning. I will truly miss it when school starts back up in August.
The book we have been going through is Becoming MomStrong by Heidi St. John.
Through the whole book, Heidi continues to bring us back to the fact that strong moms will only get true strength and wisdom from God and His Word. I took this quote and verse from chapter 1 and made this picture for our group. I printed off some on magnetic paper so the moms could put the verse on their refrigerator. You can print out the verse HERE.
I have only finished chapter 5 so far, but I loved chapters 1-3, and I also enjoyed most of chapter 5. Chapter 4 was good, I just didn’t mark it up as much as I did other chapters.
Here were some quotes and verses from chapters 1-3 that I made into pictures.
You are preparing warriors who at some point will be asked to choose between following God’s law and following the culture. And in order to prepare warriors, you have to become a warrior yourself. — Heidi St. John
A MomStrong mom is willing to fight for what God says is worth fighting for.
— Heidi St. John
Of course a strong mom must get her strength from God. He will be with us. He will fight for us!
God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” Hebrews 13:5 (NIV)
The LORD your God is in your midst, A victorious warrior. He will exult over you with joy, He will be quiet in His love, He will rejoice over you with shouts of joy. Zephaniah 3:17 (NASB)
I took what I had read from chapters 1-3 and made a sheet up for our moms to turn to in moments of need. It includes a couple of the above pictures, a couple of quotes from the book, and 3 categories of verses:
- Verses on Wisdom
- Verses on how we can become wise
- Verses to encourage us and to help us to have courage
Anyone can apply these verses to their lives, not just moms. If you would like to see the sheet or print it off for your own use, you can access it HERE. I hope it is an encouragement to you to go to the One who truly can give you the wisdom and help for today’s problems.
