After Tuesday’s elections, some people are ecstatic. Some people are angry. Some people are nervous.
You know what I am?
Confident.
Confident in God's love. Confident in God's sovereignty. Confident in God's control. Confident in God's leading. Confident that God is good. Confident that God does all things well. Confident that God makes no mistakes. Confident that I can trust God.
Confident.
This confidence has nothing to do with how I voted. It has nothing to do with how the country’s vote turned out. I would write this if President Trump was leading in the electoral vote count, and I would write this is Joe Biden was leading in the electoral vote count. It only has to do with our great God.
In our church’s Wednesday night’s prayer meeting, my husband preached through Psalm 48. He is preaching through a Psalm every Wednesday night, and he has gotten to the 48th chapter; he did not preach through this Psalm because of the election.
The first verse of Psalm 48 says,
Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised in the city of our God, in the mountain of his holiness.
No matter what happens, our God is great and He is greatly to be praised.

The last verse of Psalm 48 says,
For this God is our God for ever and ever: he will be our guide even unto death.
Is He your guide? Are you in His Word? His Word is our map. Do you have the indwelling power of the Holy Spirit in your life? The Holy Spirit is the guide. The only way to have that indwelling, that guiding presence in your life, is to fully trust in what Christ has done for you on the cross. He died on the cross to redeem, to save, you from your sins. When you trust in that saving grace, the Holy Spirit comes into your life and then guides you for the rest of your days here on this earth.
When He is your guide, you can be confident!

Amen! As the vote count lingers this is such a timely reminder to keep our confidence in Him and not in the outcome of a vote. Very well said! And thank you for hosting a great link-up.
