Growing up, it was always a special treat to have these Cinnamon Sugar Muffins or what we called them,
“Cinnamon Breakfast Puffs.”

The other day, I went out shopping, and my 7th grade daughter made these muffins, took the pictures, and made the video! I love having older children! If your kids like to bake, they will love to bake and eat these muffins. Watch the video below for the recipe or print it off below!

Cinnamon Sugar Muffins
Ingredients
- 1/3 cup shortening
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 1/2 cup flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
Ingredients needed for rolling muffins in after they are baked:
- 1/3 cup butter melted
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 cup milk
Instructions

Combine shortening, sugar, and egg.

Add the rest of the ingredients.

Beat well. Fill muffin cups 1/2 full.

Bake for 20-25 minutes at 350°.

Remove from oven.

Roll in melted butter; then in cinnamon-sugar mixture.*

(*Cinnamon-sugar mixture: 1/2 cup sugar with 1 teaspoon cinnamon.) Makes 12.
