One benefit of living in the North is that Spring is very exciting. Last week was a beautiful spring week. We had our first walk to the duck pond, our first bike ride of the year, and our first visits to the two parks that are close to our house.
Even though it will get cold again this week (which just happens to be our spring week), we know that the cold weather will leave and that winter will die . . . until next winter rolls around.
Two weeks ago, my husband got to play with the other faculty against the high school basketball team. He always enjoys playing in that game (especially if they win, which they did).
Our oldest also had her school program. She looks so grown up! It’s hard to believe we almost have a teenager.
Here are some pictures of our spring fun. My sister and her husband had to take their newborn baby to the children’s hospital to figure out why he wasn’t gaining weight. They did figure it out, and he is doing well; but we got to have a cousin playdate while the parents were in the hospital with the baby. So you will see pictures of my children and their cousins — by the way, 9 kids eat a lot of food!
The day included dart wars, homemade doughnuts, and lunch outside with a visit from Grandpa.
Then we rode our bikes to the park. Look at this crew!
Here are some pictures of the park. These girls sure had some fun together.
We also had fun playing some Minute to Win it Games. You can go HERE to see more pictures and to print out directions for the games!
This week, Joshua, Kiley, and the little girl I babysit and her mom took our first walk to the duck pond. There was still a lot of ice on the surface of the pond, but a pair of geese did come to eat our bread. I enjoyed watching them. I wrote about what I learned from them in Thoughtful Thursdays.
This week the kids are off of school, and we have a busy week planned. Make sure you come back Tuesday as there will be a $50 American Express Giftcard giveaway on the Tasty Tuesday’s post!
Isn’t wonderful to finally be able to get outside again!! It looks like you took full advantage of it!
It is so cute to go outside with the small girls and spend time with them while they play and watch nature,
It is good to take advantage of this period of life because kids grow very fast and they become grown ups over night.
