It has been an extremely busy two weeks for our family, as I am sure it has been for most everyone. My sister arrived here from South Africa on Thursday. It was so good to be able to go and see her and her family. I also took her to get a haircut on Friday and spent a little more time with her. Today, we are doing my side of the family Christmas. Twenty-four people in one house will get a little crazy, but it is sure to be a lot of fun!
We have had many programs the past few weeks. Kiley had her 3 year old program and Joshua had his Kindergarten progam over 2 weeks ago, but I never shared the pictures with you!
Then all the children participated in the children’s program last Sunday. They did an excellent job, and it is wonderful to remember the real reason for the season.
Karis had her first band concert as she started taking the flute this year. There were many squeaks and squawks, but it was rather amazing to me how well they did considering that they have only played those instruments for two months!
We had our Sunday School class party and played some Minute to Win It games. They were so much fun!
I’ve been baking a ton, which the kids thoroughly enjoyed! You can find some of my favorite Christmas desserts HERE, and I just shared the Caramel Brownies Recipe that I make every year for Christmas this past Tuesday.
I was able to go see The Christmas Carol with Karis’s class. It was very well done, and now I have fulfilled my pledge to go on one field trip with all of the kids this year.
The last day of school parties, presents, and activities are now done. Goodies are all baked and handed out to neighbors. Cards are mailed, and we had our Christmas last night. The kids all got one dress up outfit plus other fun gifts! (And some not-so-fun but necessary gifts such as socks and tights!)
Now it is just Christmas with both sides of the family and then on to see my Grandma next week.
There will be no parties next week here on Creative K Kids. I will try to have some round-ups of many different Christmas recipes and activities!
Have a Merry Christmas! Thanks for reading and supporting Creative K Kids this past year!
