As a teacher and a mom, I love to read fun picture books based on the holiday or season we are experiencing. Even though we now live in Florida, the Land of Sunshine, I still decorate my schoolroom with snowman and penguins in January.
My favorite penguin books are Tacky the Penguin books.
Here is a review my oldest daughter wrote about the Tacky series almost four years ago. If you want to get a kid’s perspective, you should read it! She has told me she is going to start writing reviews again, but we’ll see . . . .
I will share books below with my affiliate links, but I own many of the Tacky books. They are worth it. You can also probably find them in your local library.
Here all the Tacky books on Amazon. The first book is called Tacky and introduces children to Tacky, the penguin that does everything clumsily and loudly yet he comes through to save the day for his other “perfect” penguin friends.
I had fun finding these Tacky crafts for you on Pinterest:
Here are some Tacky worksheets also on Pinterest:

My favorite penguin chapter book is Mr. Popper’s Penguins.
If you need a little bit of an easier chapter book, you can get Magic Tree House’s Eve of the Emperor Penguin.
You can also go to my Amazon store where I gathered 18 Penguin books. You can click on any of the books and go read the reviews to see if they would be a good fit for your family. Your library might carry quite a few of these books, so check there too!
