We kicked off June with a birthday party for Kristi.
Her actual birthday is at the end of May, but we weren’t able to have her party until June. We went to our adopted grandma’s house where the girls swam in her pool and painted some of her big rocks that were around her pool. It was a fun time!
June was also our big VBS month.
It was my first time ever directing a VBS. It was a small VBS — about 35 kids came; but everybody pulled together and did a great job. I am very excited for this year’s VBS that we will do in July. We will promote it more because we now know we can do it. Here you can see just a few pictures from our VBS: our backdrop on the stage, our puppet show, our last day closing fun day with the bouncy house, my husband as the “king”, and Kiley showing what they took home one day.
This picture shows a few miscellaneous pictures from June.
The kids were able to sing at a local library one Sunday afternoon; Joshua got his first stitches; and Joshua and Kiley went to a local ice cream shop one Sunday night when the older three girls were away at camp. Yes, the three oldest girls went away to a Christian camp in North Carolina for a week! They loved it. Kiley that week went to a gymnastics camp, and Joshua hung out with me.
While the older three girls were away at camp, I had to do a sponsored post. I had made my tuna fish and egg salad to go with the crackers I had received from the sponsors, and I decided to throw a little tea party for Kiley and me. Joshua went fishing with daddy, and Kiley and I had a little tea party. It was a lot of fun as she had never had a tea party before.
Joshua and Kiley and I also went to The Florida Aquarium while the girls were at camp.
My sister-in-law gave us a year membership to the aquarium as a Christmas present. We had gone once as a family, and the younger kids really wanted to go again. When we went the first time, the splash park had been under construction. This time, it was open, and they had a great time cooling off in the splash park.
