Have you ever wanted to make you personalized card for a special occasion and didn’t know where to get started?
Have you ever ran out of cards or gift wrap or a gift bag and didn’t want to run out to a store just for those items?
Do you have leftover cardstock or paper that can be put to good use?
Do you have some crafty children that need some summer projects or kids that like to make cards?
If you said “Yes!” to any of the above questions, then Making Your Own Greeting Cards & Gift Wrap is the book for you!
I received this book from Fox Chapel Publishing for my honest review. There was no additional compensation.
It contains more than 50 step-by-step papercrafting projects, and my personal favorite projects are how to make a basic gift pouch and gift bag, as I can see myself using those two items all the time. I have a ton of paper, so I’m good to go! It also shows how to use all of the wonderful materials now available to cardmakers, including stickers, transfers, napkins, wire, foam, rivets and punches.
I have made cards in the past, but I’ve never gone to any parties or meetings where they give instructions on the “correct” way to do it, so although creativity is really the only thing people need in card making (besides supplies), this book gives us different ideas we can use and includes templates that go along with the ideas that are given in the book.
The book also shares what basic supplies you can use to make cards and your own gift wrap. After giving you advice on the supplies you might need, how to do some different techniques the book talks about, how to do the basic gift pouch and gift bag, it then gives step-by-step directions on how to make about 50 cards. Here are the different categories of cards that the book includes:
- General Greetings (16)
- Say it with Flowers (10)
- Special Occasions (13)
- Time to Celebrate (11)
- Galleries (different kinds of cards and gift wraps you can make) (8)
