For several years after my husband and I were married, I received some of Taste of Home’s magazines. This is one recipe that I found in those magazines that my husband loves. Probably because it has his favorite chips, Doritos, in it!
Now my kids have mixed reviews. Three of them really liked it, but my super-skinny and fussy daughter didn’t like it as she said it was “too spicy” and had “too much sour cream.” My three year old also didn’t want it, but right now she doesn’t like anything she doesn’t recognize.
This recipe is not the healthiest of recipes, but it is fun to make every once and a while; and it is easy to make!

Beef Nacho Pie Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground turkey or beef
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 1 can 8 ounces tomato sauce
- 2 tablespoons taco seasoning
- 1 tube 8 ounces refrigerated crescent rolls
- 1-1/2 cups crushed nacho-flavored tortilla chips divided
- 1 cup 8 ounces sour cream
- 1 cup 4 ounces shredded Mexican cheese or cheddar cheese
Instructions
-
In a large skillet, cook beef and onion over medium heat until meat is no longer pink; drain.
-
Stir in tomato sauce and taco seasoning.
-
Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, for 5 minutes.
-
Unroll crescent dough; place in a greased 9-in. pie plate. Press onto the bottom and up the sides to form a crust; seal perforations.
-
Sprinkle 1 cup chips over crust.
-
Top with meat mixture.
-
Carefully spread sour cream over meat mixture.
-
Sprinkle with cheese and remaining chips.
-
Bake at 350° for 20-25 minutes or until cheese is melted and crust is golden brown.
-
Let stand for 5 minutes before cutting. Yield: 6-8 servings

Thank you for hosting this tasty looking party! Your nacho pie looks like it would go over well in my house of boys. I will have to try it..
Thanks Tiffany
Yes, I think boys would love it! My boy did. Thanks for linking up!
I get Country Woman magazine, which is a sister company with Taste of Home, and I love the recipes!
I have never looked at Country Woman magazine. I think I actually got Simple & Delicious, which is a sister company because they had freezer meals. I don’t get them anymore.
I love Taste of Home recipes. I started getting the magazines from my MIL after she discovered them soon after we were married. It’s fun tryingnew recipeseven if the kids aren’t as adventurous as I would like them to be. On the other hand, if I call this Doritos pie, they wouldbe sure to gobble it up!
They do have good recipes–I’ve stopped getting them now. Calling it Doritos Pie sounds like a plan!
I can almost make your nacho pie if I had some chips…maybe I’ll send the hubby to the store so I can make it for dinner? Hmmm….Thanks for the party. I was able to link up fine.
Great! It might be down tomorrow. You’ll have to let me know if you make the recipe!
This looks really easy and I bet my husband would really like it.
It is really easy, and it seems to be a favorite for men.
I have grass fed, very lean beef from my uncle, but his last cow was butchered last year. 🙁 And I almost always do half beef/half turkey because ground turkey is cheaper than beef! But my husband doesn’t like the taste of straight turkey.
This recipe looks delicious! My family would definitely enjoy it because it can have doritos in it.
Thanks for linking up at the Ultimate party!
The Doritos make it a winner in my husband’s book!
