June was our big moving month here to Florida. That seems so long ago, yet it was only 7 months ago.
I have so many pictures from June as it was such a life-changing month for us. Today I will share our memories of just getting to Florida. My next post will be the 2nd half of June, our first 2 weeks in Florida.
For the first week of June, we were still in Illinois. Dave had promised our kids to take them on a paddleboat ride in a little lake by where we lived; so before we left, we all took a ride on a couple of paddleboats.
On June 5th, we started our trip to Florida. We first drove to Virginia and stayed a couple of days with my husband’s sister’s family. The cousins had a great time together.
After we left their house, we drove 6 more hours and went to a Great Wolf Lodge for some fun and sleep. We swam and played that evening and the next morning before we hit the road again.
We drove 6 more hours until we got to the edge of Georgia and Florida. That night we stayed right on the coast. The next morning we swam in the Atlantic Ocean before we headed on to our new new home.
When we arrived that evening, we found this message on the church sign and our kitchen full of food! (And a lot of boxes in our house ready to be unpacked.)
