I’m trying to caught up on our monthly pictures of our family activities. I hope you enjoy seeing these windows into our lives; but I also hope that my kids will enjoy coming back and looking at these posts and remembering our fun memories.
The last picture I shared on our last post was a picture of our church’s sign welcoming our family to Florida. After a long drive, that was a really special moment as we drove onto the church grounds and saw the welcome our church had for us. Two days later, we had our first service as a family in church, and a church member took this picture:
That week, my parents pulled in to help us unpack. Were they ever a big help. My mom made 5 curtains; my dad built shelves in our laundry room, put in closet organizers and organized our sheds; helped Dave unpack his office, and both of them helped us unpack our whole house. We would probably still be unpacking if we had not had their help. Here are a couple pictures of them helping us:
We also took some time to do some fun activities with my parents.
- We used some gift cards and went to Coldstone Creamery for a cold treat after a hot day’s work.
- One night, we went Honeymoon Island for a picnic dinner.
- We went to the sponge docks at Tarpon Springs so my parents could find some trinkets to take back to the family in Illinois and Indiana. There we ate at Hellas, an authentic Greek restauarant.
- We took some walks around a little lake by our house and the kids had fun catching lizards.
We also took them to the Causeway in Clearwater and took a lot of pictures:
In those 2 weeks, we also saw our first snake in our backyard, celebrated my dad’s birthday, and Father’s Day and settled into our new home. He requested 3 of our favorite recipes, Bacon and Cheese Meatloaf, Angel Biscuits, and Baked Alaska. It’s been a fun 6 months, and we are excited to see what 2017 brings!
